Debra Kloosterman, 70, of Zeeland, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at her home.
Deb was born April 16, 1951, in Zeeland to Arthur and Shirley (Glass) Kraai. Deb graduated from Zeeland High School in 1969 and married Dan Kloosterman in 1970. Deb and Dan were members of Borculo Christian Reformed Church and were the church custodians for over a decade. Dan worked as the owner of V&S Siding and Deb retired as the head cook for Zeeland Public Schools food service in 2014 after 18 years of service. Dan preceded her in death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy Ruch, and her sister-in-law Jodi Kraai.
She is survived by her children: Lisa and Randy Robinson of Holland, Stacy and Dennis Boersen of Zeeland, Mark and Vernee Kloosterman of Holland, Renae Kloosterman of Benton Harbor; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Danielle De Witt and fiancé Mark Hunter, Briana and Cameron Suzenaar (baby Suzenaar coming soon), Tanden De Witt, Jen and Darrell Senechal (Charles, Dorothy); Nicholas Boersen, Alissa Boersen; Machiah and Lindsey Kloosterman, Abigail Kloosterman, Brendan Kloosterman; siblings: Sue and Ernie Schutte, Kirk Kraai; in-laws: Mike and Kathleen Ruch, Carol and Jim Granzo, Luanne and Jack Busscher, Scott and Karen Kloosterman; and many extended family and friends.
A funeral service to honor the faith and life of Debra Kloosterman will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave., Zeeland MI 49464. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Wednesday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Borculo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Hospice of Holland.
