ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Tyson “team members” in the Zeeland area are in line for a pay raise.
On Thursday (July 21, 2021), officials of the food company based in Arkansas announced that hourly production workers will earn, beginning on August 8th, $19.20 per hour. It’s a $3.10 increase, with an incremental one-dollar per hour premium for second and third shift employees. That premium will be available immediately for those filling open positions in those shifts. Workers will also be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits, as well as enrolling in 401(k) and purchasing Tyson stock.
Dale Miller, the plant manager at the facility off of 96th Avenue near Borculo, said in a company statement, “We are committed to ensuring that our team feels values and supported. Our team members work hard every day to put food on the table, and we are pleased to competitively compensate them for their dedicated work.”
Tyson also used the Thursday announcement to point out that, “The Zeeland facility received safety verification from Matrix Medical Network for its COVID-19 protection measures, including health screenings, face coverings and shields, temperature checks, workstation dividers and ongoing COVID-19 testing. The company has also been providing on-site coronavirus vaccinations.”
