HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — The suspect in a the April 10, 2021, shooting incident at the Enclave Apartments in Allendale Township has been arrested, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett. Four people were hurt, one critically.
Wyoming resident, Jaime Secundino, 21, faces a six-count felony warrant, with charges including three counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearms, and one count of discharging a weapon at an occupied dwelling.
Bennett indicated the intense investigation that includes several agencies and numerous investigators, and information from witnesses and Silent Observer were key to developing probable cause that led to the charges.
Police believe Secundino was at a party at the Enclave Apartments, 4926 Becker Drive in Allendale Township, when the shooting occurred.
While the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police learned Secundino fled to Mexico shortly after the shooting.
On Monday, June 28, 2021, Secundino boarded a flight in Mexico City and flew to Detroit, where US Customs and Border Protection took him into custody without incident.
Bennett indicated Secundino may have been returning to the US to turn himself in to authorities.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives went to Detroit and to bring Secundino to the Ottawa County Jail where he awaits arraignment on the aforementioned charges.
