Bonnie was a woman of devotional faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flint, Michigan for over 50 years. She served as a Deacon, an Elder, a Bishop class leader, and a Sunday School teacher. She shared her faith enthusiastically, joyfully, and with eternal hope and grace.
Bonnie was a lifelong educator as a public school teacher and lover of life. Every vacation was always full of learning and exploring, as she never wanted to miss an opportunity to teach. She was able to fulfill a lifelong dream to visit the Holy Land, and always wanted to share her experience and travels with others. She loved the Lord, and loved reading and studying His lessons. She believed she experienced His miracle after receiving a heart transplant in 2002, and loved to share her story as a witness to Christ’s grace. Bonnie was a Prayer Warrior with unconditional love for her family.
Bonnie loved participating in Bible Study and reading His Word. She was a great cook, and loved to bake; she was famous for her homemade pies with the delicious crust! She was an excellent seamstress, and she knit many baby blankets and sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, and canning. She made the best jams and homemade applesauce! But most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family.
Bonnie would always say, “May the world be kind to you today”. She has served the Lord well and has left a spiritual legacy for her family to remember and Believe.
A graveside service for Bonnie will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
