KANSAS CITY, MO (WKZO AM/FM) – Willi Castro, Niko Goodrum, and Robbie Grossman went deep as the Detroit Tigers trounced the Royals 10-3 in Kansas City last night.
Miguel Cabrera, Nomar Mazara, and Jonathan Schoop also drove in runs for Detroit, which snapped a three-game skid. Cabrera had three hits in the game.
Joe Jimenez earned the win after tossing two-third innings in relief following Matthew Boyd’s exit with left-arm discomfort. Alex Lange also left the game with right shoulder discomfort.
Salvador Perez, Jorge Soler, and Hanser Alberto plated the runs for the Royals. Brad Keller suffered his sixth loss after giving up seven runs, six earned, in five frames. The Royals have lost four in-a-row.
Detroit sends Casey Mize to the mound tonight while Kansas City counters with Mike Minor, with the opening pitch scheduled for 8:10 p.m. EDT.
