HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County Undersheriff Mike Larsen issued an alert on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, that police are receiving reports of imposters posing as detectives.
“The individuals are stating that you have an arrest warrant for various crimes and deputies are currently (enroute) to your residence to arrest you,” Larsen wrote in an email to the media. “The individuals are demanding monies be sent to stop the arrest process.”
He added that this is a common was scam artists attempt to get cash from people.
“The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office want to remind the public that a phone call of this nature should be considered false and to immediately stop the conversation and do not send any monies,” Larsen wrote.
No police agency conducts business this way, he added.
