HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 33-year-old Jenison man is in Ottawa County Jail, awaiting arraignment on a hit-and-run crash involving a pick-up truck and a house, according to police.
The crash happened just after 8:45 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, near Oakwood and Cottonwood drives in Georgetown Township, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Luce.
Police learned the man, driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado “at a high rate of speed,” lost control, crashing into a house. One person inside the house who suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released, Luce said in an email to media.
The suspect driver fled the scene, Luce said, but deputies were able to track and arrest him without incident. The crash remains under investigation, according to Luce, but alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The name of the suspect will be withheld pending arraingment in the 58th District Court.
