ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Wayland Post responded to a traffic crash involving a Thornapple Kellogg school bus on Tuesday around 3:50 p.m.
It happened near the intersection of Patterson Road and 108th Street in Leighton Township, which is located in Allegan County.
Police say the driver of a Volvo station wagon was traveling eastbound on 108th Street before passing several vehicles and disregarding a stop sign at the intersection of Patterson Road.
The Volvo then struck a school bus that was traveling southbound on Patterson Road, causing it to roll over numerous times before landing in a ditch.
At the time of the crash, there were no children inside the school bus. The bus driver, a 69-year-old man from Middleville, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Volvo, a 24-year-old man from Hastings, was uninjured.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation at this time.
