Dorothy Sterenberg, age 89 of Holland, passed away on April 26, 2021, at The Inn at Freedom Village. Dorothy grew up in Chicago and graduated from Chicago Christian High School. She worked at Marshall Fields for many years in Chicago. She and her husband John enjoyed spending many summer vacations on the Michigan lakeshore and fell in love with Holland, where they would spend their retirement. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed her most recent years spent at Freedom Village, where she made a number of beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Susan Sterenberg, and sister Edith Ipema. She is survived by her sons: John Jr. and Jeannine Sterenberg, Mark Sterenberg; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. The family will be gathering privately to honor Dorothy.
