Henry McKinley Wright, age 97, of Holland formerly of Flint, MI died Saturday, April 10, 2021.
Henry was a former member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Flint, MI before joining Cornerstone Tabernacle in Holland. He served in the US Army during World War II and retired from General Motors. He really enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and loved spending time with family. And if there was a task that needed to be completed Henry could always get it done, no matter how difficult it was, he could figure it out. He was a “Jack of All Trades”.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Wright and a son Marc Wright.
He is survived by his son, Pastor Douglas C. and Crystal Wright of Holland; grandchildren: Alexis Wright of Holland, Douglas “Doc” Wright II and wife, Cassandra of Holland and Marc Wright Jr. of Lapeer, MI; great-grandchildren: Zoe McKinley, Zaiya and Zavion; sister: Daisy Mae Woodworth of Henderson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and many cousins.
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, April 19, 2021, at Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland.
The family would like to invite family and friends to a graveside service with military honors at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Sunset Hills cemetery, 4413 Flushing Road, Flint, MI 48504. Pastor Douglas C. Wright will be presiding. Memorial contributions may be given to Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, 781 Lincoln Avenue, Holland, MI 49423. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel.
