KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A southern Kent County neighborhood saw it’s fair share of damage from Saturday’s Spring storms that blew through Southwest Michigan.
WOOD TV reporting that residents of Byron Center received the brunt of strong winds which caused toppled and uprooted trees, damaged roofs, ripped-off siding, and even a dented garage door at one residence in the area of 100th Street and Eastern Avenue, just east of US-131.
The Weekend’s severe weather also wreaked havoc in Kalamazoo County in Gains Township where thousands of residents lost their power.
As of 11 p.m. Saturday, Consumers Energy reported that around 2,300 customers were still in the dark, with the majority of locations just west of Kalamazoo.
But despite all the damage caused by the storms, no injuries were reported.
