HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 31-year-old Grand Rapids woman, learning how to drive a motorcycle, received a painful lesson from a Saturday (Apr. 3, 2021) morning crash in Hudsonville.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ryan DeVries, the single-vehicle incident occurred in the area of Corporate Grove and Corporate Exhange, in the vicinity of 32nd Avenue and I-196, around 8 a.m., while the victim was participating in a motorcycle training class near a motorcycle dealership. “During the training, the female lost control of the motorcycle, which caused it to leave the parking lot and into a grassy area,” DeVries said in a department statement. “The female sustained non life threatening injuries and was transported to Spectrum Butterworth (hospital).”
DeVries added that the victim was helmeted at the time as the crash remains under investigation.
