HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — COVID-19 is rising in Michigan. State health officials noted 5,224 new COVID-positive residents were reported on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Since last March 642,869 Michigan residents have gotten the virus;15,984 people have died. State officials reported 49 deaths yesterday, 30 of those found in standard medical-record reviews.
Allegan County health records show just under 800 people currently trying to recover from the virus of nearly 8,000 diagnosed since last year. In addition to 118 deaths since last year, Allegan County’s average daily case rate, which peaked in November at 99.9, fell to 7.7 last month. As of Thursday, March 25, is at 33.
Ottawa County’s current average rate of people being diagnosed with the coronavirus is 99. Since last year more than 23 ,000 people have gotten some form of COVID-19 and 353 have died. Currently, 1,944 Ottawa County residents still considered actively ill with the coronavirus.
Holland Hospital as of 5 a.m. showed nine patients with COVID-19. Spectrum Health’s facilities are treating 79 people with the virus.
