UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Only one Lakeshore team remains in the MHSAA girls’ basketball championship tournament, as Hamilton advanced to a Friday district final against West Catholic in Coopersville by downing Coopersville on the road on Wednesday night, 38-25. All of the other teams in action on Wednesday lost: Hudsonville 45, West Ottawa 39; Jenison 51, Zeeland East 34; North Muskegon 48, Saugatuck 45; and Western Michigan Christian 65, Black River 36.
Thursday evening district semifinal action in the state boys’ basketball tournament: The doubleheader at Zeeland East, with the Chix hosting Zeeland West and West Ottawa taking on Hudsonville, can be heard with Greg Chandler, starting at 5:10 PM, on 99 7/1450 WHTC; Holland Christian is at Coloma; and the Saugatuck at Fennville contest airs around 6:40 PM, following the conclusion of the Calvin Christian-Covenant Christian match, on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
In a Thursday night district final, Calvary meets Muskegon Catholic Central at Fruitport Calvary.

Caris LaVert’s 28 points helped the Indiana Pacers defeat the visiting Pistons on Wednesday night, 116-111. Detroit entertains the Brooklyn Nets on Friday evening at Little Caesars Arena.
Darius Garland had 22 points as the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers subdued the Bulls at the United Center on Wednesday night, 103-94. Chicago is off until facing the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco next Monday evening.
