Rudy Broekhuis, age 67, of Fennville, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Holland Hospital.
Rudy was a member of Christ Memorial Church and a former member of Park Christian Reformed Church. He worked at Herman-Miller for 19 years in various capacities and was an international traveler and businessman as well as co-founder and Vice President of Global Concepts, Inc. Recently retired, Rudy always joked that he was born for retirement. Most of all, Rudy was an active and loving Husband, Dad and Papa.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hazel Broekhuis; siblings, Harloa Yonker, Lyle Broekhuis; and parents-in-law, Barney and Gezina Zuidema.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane Broekhuis; children, Ryan Broekhuis and Maria Hernandez, Holland, Dawn (Chad) Joldersma, Jacksonville Beach, FL, Emily (Anthony) Petkus, Holland; grandchildren, Xavier, Weston, Viviana, Sloan, Sebastian, Hazel; in-laws, Barbara (Robert) Slikkers, Holland, Larry (Marla) Zuidema, Zeeland, Marilyn Broekhuis, Overisel; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 1st, at Park Christian Reformed Church, 1496 W 32nd St., Holland. Rev. Jack Dik will officiate. The service will also be live-streamed. Burial will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holland Christian Schools. Social distancing and masking will be required at the church.
