HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Tulip Time Festival officials announced the Virtual Artisan Market application deadline is quickly approaching.
The annual Tulip Time Artisan Market typically hosts 200 vendors, drawing thousands of visitors to Holland’s Centennial park. Because of the pandemic and current health projections, festival officials are converting this year’s event to a virtual one.
Artists can still get their work in front of thousands of people for an extended period. The virtual market is set for April 24 through May 9, 2021.
Virtual artist booths will be part of the festival’s digital presence and marketing effort. Festival officials say TulipTime.com receives 400,000 visitors and 1.9 million page views, with most web traffic during April and May. The marketing effort includes using Facebook and Instagram, where festival officials say followers “are highly engaged numbering over 49,000 and 6,900, respectively.”
The Virtual Artisan Market will be a juried show. Acceptance information is set to be announced on March 5. Artists who want a virtual booth must pay a $100 fee, due by March 19.
Artists interested in applying have until this Sunday, Feb. 28, to complete their online application. Visit tuliptime.com/artisanmarket for details. Email questions to event coordinator Kim Vandermolen: artfair@tuliptime.com.
