Marian Kuipers, age 97 of Zeeland, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021.
She is survived by her son Jerry and Penny DeBoer of Monkton, MD; her 4 grandchildren/spouses: Derek and Heather DeBoer, Corbin and Marnie DeBoer, Whitney and Mike Benzak, and Taylor DeBoer and Brittany Thomas; her 7 great-grandchildren: Angus, Greyson, Cleo, Gillis, Ressa, Gemma, and Margie Penny; her brother and sister-in-law Norman and Thelma Machiela, and her sisters-in-law Margaret Pyle and Joyce Jacobs and many nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by her first husband John DeBoer in 1945 and her second husband Gerald Kuipers in 1987.
Marian retired as a nurse from Holland Hospital, in 1987. After retirement, she started an alterations business out of her home. She had a strong faith and was a member of North Street Christian Reformed Church. Until recently, Marian was an avid reader and crossword puzzler; and she remained active cooking for herself, and others, sewing for missions, sending cards/notes to family and friends, and donating to several organizations/individuals who needed financial support. Marian lived to serve others.
Private graveside services will be held in Zeeland Cemetery and a service to honor Marian will be held this summer. Information will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions in her memory can be given to Mel Trotter Ministries or Mission Aviation Fellowship. www.yntemafh.com
