Dorothy Brummel, age 91, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 12, 2021, at Appledorn.
She is survived by her daughters: Jan and Robert Wiersma and Carol and Jeffrey Beyer; her daughter-in-law Mary and Curt Schouten; grandchildren: Jenna and Josh Feikema, Kelly and Andrew Thorsby, Allison Beyer, Seth Beyer, Sarah and Steve Sharp, Matthew and Gabrielle Brummel, Bradley and Ashley Brummel, Joshua and Bobbie Maly, Dimitri Maly and Angela Maly; her sister Mary and Howard Pippel, and her sisters-in-law: Nadine Klynstra and Kathy Overbeek.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Leon, her son Lyle Brummel, and her granddaughter Lynette Bell. Dorothy was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. She was a former teacher and taught at Huyser School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and wintering in Arizona. Dorothy volunteered at Ditto, she was active in church and was a Kids Hope volunteer.
Dorothy’s family would like to express their gratitude to Appledorn and Hospice of Holland for the loving care given to their mother.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:30-10:45 am with the funeral service to follow at 11 am at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 515 East Main Ave, Zeeland (masks required). Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Zeeland Christian School. www.yntemafh.com
