HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Three people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Adams Street at 40th Avenue in Jamestown Township just before 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021.
A 20-year-old Hamilton man had been driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee north on 40th Avenue when, police said, he failed to stop for a stop sign.
The Jeep hit a 2001 GMC Yukon that had been westbound on Adams Street, which had a 30-year-old Holland man at the wheel and a 24-year-old Holland woman in the passenger seat. The collision sent vehicles rolling into a field on the intersection’s northwest corner.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies, Life EMS and Jamestown Township firefighters responded to the scene. The EMTs cared for the occupants’ injuries, releasing them at the scene.
Police ticketed the Hamilton man for running the stop sign. The intersection was closed for just over an hour for the investigation and clean up of the accident, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. J. Douglas.
