Ruben G. Perez, 77, of Holland, MI, passed away on March 27, 2026, after a short illness. He was born on January 22, 1949, in La Feria, TX. He moved to Holland, MI, where he attended Hope College and graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. Later he received his J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law in Minnesota.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Nelda Wolbert (Wayne) of Holland, Julia Perez of Lansing, MI, Patricia Perez of Holland, and Yvonne Lopez of Holland; his nieces Nicole Leep and Isabel Lopez; his nephews Alejandro Perez Wolbert, Miguel Wolbert, Sam Wolbert, and Matthew Wolbert; and several great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Lucy.
Ruben loved spending time with his siblings, enjoyed family celebrations, traveling, and listening to music, especially classic rock bands and Tejano music. He was a huge fan of watching sports on television and playing guitar.
Ruben will be missed and will remain in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
