HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 23, 2026) – A couple of public entities have business meetings on tap for Monday.
One is scheduled, as the Saugatuck City Council has its biweekly session set for 6:30 PM in the second-floor meeting room of Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). On the consent agenda is approving an agreement with Douglas and Saugatuck Township to have this year’s early voting site for the three municipalities in Douglas, along with adding Fennville as a member of the Interurban Transit Authority. On the main agenda is a public hearing and subsequent vote on approving a planned unit development overlay and associated plan for a proposed two-story residential/retail building off of Water Street, near the river’s edge, between Spear and Francis Street.
The other is a special 4 PM meeting of the board of the Holland Board of Public Works, in the municipal utility’s offices opposite the water treatment plant (49 W. 3rd St). The governing panel will be asked to approve a revised contract with Southwest Electric for repairs made last fall to transformers at the Greenly Substation, as well as go over a local generation market evaluation update is required under the state’s renewable energy standard requirements for public and private utilities.
