Hope College split a pair of NCAA Division III basketball tournament first-round games last night. At Wisconsin-LaCrosse, Sam Greiger and JJ Paider each had 16 points and seven rebounds, as the Eagles ended the visiting Flying Dutchmen’s season at 18-10 with a 75-61 triumph. In Holland, Maddie Petroelje scored 22 points as the Flying Dutch humbled visiting Penn State-Behrend, 103-65. The Flying Dutch host Illinois Wesleyan, a 61-53 winner over Washington and Jefferson, in a second-round contest at DeVos Fieldhouse this evening.
Grand Valley State’s basketball teams are in GLIAC tournament semifinal action today, with the men playing Michigan Tech in Marquette, while the women are home to Northern Michigan at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale.
