In regional semifinal play on Tuesday evening, Holland Christian faces Niles at Otsego, while West Ottawa takes on East Kentwood at Caledonia.

Hope College set up MIAA basketball tournament championship game match ups with Trine through victories by both schools last night. At Olivet, Orion Yant scored 18 points as the Flying Dutchmen topped Calvin, 73-63, while the Thunder upset the host Comets, 86-69. In Angola, Sydney Vis had 18 points as the Flying Dutch beat Albion’s women, 73-58, while the Thunder downed visiting Calvin, 69-57. The two title contests are set for this evening.
In state major-college basketball last night, Michigan 84, Illinois 70, and Miami Ohio 69, Western Michigan 67. This evening, Central Michigan is at Buffalo, and Detroit Mercy is at Oakland.
