Jalen Overway had 28 points with 10 rebounds, as Calvin downed the visiting Flying Dutchmen in Grand Rapids, 96-88. Sydney Vis tallied 17 points, as the Flying Dutch put away visiting Trine at DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, 89-58. Both of Hope’s teams return to action this coming Friday evening in MIAA tournament semifinal action, with the men at Olivet, and the women at Trine.
Grand Valley State split a pair of basketball games with Lake Superior State in Sault Ste. Marie yesterday. Nicole Kamin scored nine of her 11 points in the first three-plus minutes, as the women raced to a 20-0 start and an 87-40 triumph in the opener. Omar Suleiman’s 24 points paced LSSU to victory in the men’s nightcap, 105-95. GVSU’s teams host Davenport at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Tuesday evening.
