GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 19, 2026) – Just in time for the upcoming spring stormy weather season is the annual Skywarn Weather Spotter Training Class.
Set for Thursday evening at Alive Church (263 Church St.) in Jenison, staffers from the National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids are joined by emergency management officials such as Ottawa County’s Director, Lou Hunt, in instructing first responders, amateur radio operators, and other weather enthusiasts on ways to identify severe storms and tornadoes, reporting and safety tips, and in general, just how to be a weather spotter.
The Skywarn Weather Spotter Training Class is free to attend, with doors opening at 6 PM for the 6:30 session.
