HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 19, 2026) – A proposed new community housing project received a green light from the Holland City Council on Wednesday night.
Doors of Hope had asked the city to rezone about an acre and a third of land on the southeast corner of East 8th Street and Waverly Road in order to build seven new residential units amidst an existing building on the site, which would serve as a residence with a community use space. The Holland Planning Commission last month recommended the change to a planned unit development designation.
Fifth Ward Councilman Scott Corbin expressed the sentiment of his colleagues in unanimously approving the change.
Ground on the Hope Ridge project is expected to be broken later this year.
