ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 14, 2026) – Two Zeeland Fire Department personnel were hurt combating a blaze at an apartment complex on Friday evening.
According to Interim Fire Chief Mitchell Harsevoort, crews were dispatched to the Creekside Apartment complex off of State Street just before 6 PM. They found four of the 12 units engulfed in flames that were coming out from the second story of the structure, with the other “minimally impacted.” It took about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Two unnamed firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. No residents were reportedly hurt.
No cause of what started the fire was immediately determined, and a dollar estimate of damage is pending, as the incident remains under investigation.
