Michelle Zavala, age 48 of Holland, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026.
She is survived by her husband of almost 20 years Luis, her children Jessica Zavala, and Jovani Zavala, her father Marvin Zwagerman, her siblings, Laura and Mike Piechocki, and Tim and Lisa Zwagerman.
Michelle was preceded in death by her son Darien Phimmasane, and her mother Elaine Zwagerman.
Michelle was a member of Victory Point Church and was strong in her faith. She was a loving wife and mother. Michelle loved traveling with her family and helping others in the community do the same in her work as a travel agent. She enjoyed quilting and other crafts. She was kind and selfless and volunteered in the community. Most recently she enjoyed spending time outside, doing yoga, and reading. Time with family was most important to her, including Sunday game nights with her father and siblings. She was loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, January 16, 2026, at Victory Point Church, 11530 Ransom St, Holland. Interment will be in North Holland Cemetery.
