Melinda K. VanOrder, age 53, of Zeeland, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her home on January 8th, 2026.
Melinda (Mindy) loved being with her family and friends. She worked for Fricano’s Too where she met some really good friends. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Holland where she gained even more friends and shared her love of bartending. She loved spending time at the family cottage where we would all gather together where we would all swim, go for boat rides, and sit by the fire. She loved sitting on the living room floor with her granddaughter playing games and coloring. Even though she had battled MS for a long while, she lived life the way she wanted to.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce VanOrder; her children, Roxanne (Tommy) Phipps, Tyler (Jami) VanOrder; her granddaughter, Alice VanOrder; her parents Tom (Anne) Thrasher, Bobbie (Barry) Staggs; her parents-in-law, Art (Betty) VanOrder; her brothers, T.J. (Alyssa) Thrasher, Eric (Angela) Kincaid, Kevin Kincaid, T.J. Kincaid, Matt (Amanda) Staggs, Josh (Megan) Staggs; her sister-in-law, Melanie (Doug) Engelsman; her sister-in-law, Amy Thrasher and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Visiting hours will be 3:00-7:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 14, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Borculo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society
