PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 12, 2026) – More details have emerged from the discovery of a body in Lake Michigan last Friday.
Around 2:25 PM, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an undisclosed spot along the shoreline after a person walking along the beach located a body that had washed up on shore. On Monday, Detective Captain Jake Sparks disclosed that the body was that of a 48-year-old Holland Township woman, whose identity will not be revealed by his office. An autopsy conducted by the county Medical Examiner’s Office determined that she had drowned, and that her death is considered to be self-inflicted.
Although the matter remains under investigation, Sparks said that no foul play is suspected. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
