HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 16, 2025) – Details are sketchy over a reported drowning at the Holland Aquatic Center on Monday.
Neither facility officials nor Holland Department of Public Safety leaders have said much about the incident which led to the closing of the building during the afternoon. It appears that an “elderly female” lost her life due to what authorities are only calling at this point a medical condition. The HAC issued a statement expressing deep sadness at the woman’s passing, and asked for the community’s understanding and kindness in navigating a difficult time together. The name of the person involved, as well as the circumstances which led to the situation, were not immediately disclosed.
It was not know as of dawn on Tuesday when the Holland Aquatic Center would reopen.
