OLIVE TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 13, 2025) – A 29-year-old West Olive woman is expected to recover from injuries sustained when a tanker truck collided with her SUV between Holland and Grand Haven on Saturday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Tyler VanDoeselaar, first responders were dispatched to the junction of US-31 and Port Sheldon Street around 8:45 AM. That was where the westbound SUV, driving through the intersection on a green light, was broadsided by the northbound tanker filled with liquid nitrogen that was unable to stop on a red light due to the wintry road conditions.
The woman was taken to an unnamed medical facility with serious but non-life threatening injuries, while her two children – an eight year-old girl and a five-year-old boy – who were properly buckled up in the back seat, were not hurt. The 39-year-old trucker from Crown Point, Indiana was also uninjured.
There was no word as to whether any of the liquid nitrogen was released as a result of the incident, which remains under investigation.
