Gary was born to Jerry and Bernice (Lawrence) Arens and graduated from West Ottawa High School. He was a beloved member of his family, survived by his parents, Jerry and Bernice, and his brother, Phil Arens, along with Phil’s wife, Stacy. Gary cherished his nieces, Tanya Valentine and her husband Dale, and Kelli Smith and her husband Aaron; he is also survived by many extended family and friends.
He had a deep love for dogs and held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, who brought him immense joy.
Gary will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his kind spirit and the love he shared with his family and friends.
A celebration service honoring Gary’s life will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland. Burial will be in Port Sheldon Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-6:00pm on Wednesday, December 10 at Lakeshore Memorial.
