OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 29, 2025) – It was a Tuesday of settlement for the Ottawa County Board.
In a meeting that lasted more than four hours, the governing panel passed separate agreements which made public minutes from a closed session last November about a reported $4 million lawsuit settlement from county Health Officer Adeline Hambley; accepted a settlement offer from Chester Township over a judicial ruling that revoked allocating more than $560,000 to that entity for restoring Crockery Lake; and to waive attorney-client privilege involving alleged document forging claims over the “separation” of former county senior executive aide Jordan Epperson. All of those passages came in split votes.
It was a somewhat contentious meeting, admitted outgoing interim Administrator Gary Rosema.
Tuesday was the second day on the job for new County Administrator Patrick Waterman, with Rosema staying on to be the interim Deputy Administrator while the search for a number 2 operational leader is being conducted.
