SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 22, 2025) – Signage and maintenance highlight Wednesday’s Saugatuck City Council Workshop agenda.
According to city manager Ryan Cummins, there are no posted rules at all of Saugatuck’s public parks, an oversight that he would like for council to correct with a formal approval of such rules. In addition, the city’s Historic District Commission wants to update signage that would mark the boundaries of the district.
Also during the workshop, council members will be briefed on a proposed 2026 plan for treating the invasive Eurasian Water Milfoil aquatic plant in Kalamazoo Lake. The retained firm Aquatic Doctors believes that it would take around $70,000 to handle the matter next year, which is around the same amount as in 2025, and was close to $7,000 under an initial estimate.
No final decisions are expected during the Saugatuck City Council’s 4 PM workshop in the second-floor meeting room of Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
