HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 30, 2025) – One of the leading businessmen in the Holland area will be remembered on Wednesday.
A funeral mass is slated for 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church (171 W. 13th St.) for Patrick Thompson, who died 10 days ago in his home at the age of 85. The Chicagoland native moved to the Tulip City in 1968 to start up a metal stamping company, with he and his wife coining the name Trans-Matic Manufacturing.
The entity grew into an international operation, and Mr. Thompson became a community benefactor. The Thompson M-Tec Center, part of the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District complex in West Olive, bears his name.
Visitation for Mr. Thompson is set for Tuesday, from 4-7 PM, at the Langeland-Sterenberg-Yntema Funeral Home (315 E. 16th St.).
