ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 30, 2025) – One of three traditional fundraisers for the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative begins on Wednesday.
Throughout the month of October, this arm of the Allegan County Community Foundation will be collecting cans of soup, as well as money, in its “Souptober” initiative. Stephanie Calhoun, President/CEO of the Foundation, says that this will benefit the ongoing food insecurity issue that plagues many in the county.
This drive is held in conjunction with the Peanut Butter Drive in January, and the Cereal Drive in April, that helps provide lasting food staples for the hungry.
An online link as to where the soup is being collected, as well as donating financial capital towards Souptober and the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative, is here.
