UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 30, 2025) – The list of hopefuls to become new members of the Lakeshore’s state legislative delegation is growing.
On Monday, Paw Paw attorney Chris Moratis announced his plans to seek the Republican nomination in the 20th Senate District, joining Casco Township Treasurer Kenny Clevenger in vying for the opportunity to replace the current and term-limited Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt, who is himself trying to gain the Republican gubernatorial nomination in next August’s primary.
Last week, former Ottawa County Commissioner Chris Kleinjans announced via a video his intention to seek the Democratic nomination in the 31st Senate District after losing to Republican Jordan Jorritsma last November.
Senate Minority Whip Roger Victory of Hudsonville, who currently holds that seat, is also term-limited.
