GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 30, 2025) – The 49-year-old suspect in a fatal shooting at an apartment complex south of Jenison last Thursday morning has now been formally charged.
On Tuesday, Michelle Matos-Colon was arraigned at 58th District Court in Hudsonville on open murder and felony firearm charges. She was ordered held on $1 million bond by Judge Judy Mulder, with a preliminary hearing set for sometime next month.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and other first responders were dispatched to a unit in the 100 block of Brookmeadow Court, just east of the Kenowa Avenue-44th Street junction, around 9:30 AM on Sept. 25, on a report of a “domestic situation” that turned violent. They came upon the body of 52-year-old Elieser Lores Montano with a fatal gunshot wound, and the County Medical Examiner determined, about 24 hours later, that he was the victim of a homicide. After interviewing neighbors and others associated with the residence in question, Matos-Colon, who was considered the wife of the shooting victim, was taken into custody at the scene.
The case still remains under investigation, and anyone with any further information on this matter is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
