SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 25, 2025) – The third and final League of Women Voters of the Holland Area candidate forum ahead of the November 4 municipal General Election is set for Thursday evening.
Beginning at 6:30 PM in the media center of Saugatuck High School (401 Elizabeth St.), invited City Council hopefuls Holly Anderson, Joseph Clark, Russ Gardner, John Mayer and Sherry Tedaldi will present their case for being elected to Saugatuck’s leadership panel, along with answering questions from the audience submitted to league moderator Claudia Beery.
This session comes on the same week as area residents who had requested an absentee ballot in advance should have received it through the US Mail. Some of them may have already submitted those completed ballots back by the time of this forum, and perhaps comments made by the candidates there could compel these voters to change their minds and wish to recast their ballot.
Such an action, called “spoiling” the ballot, must be requested for in person at the local clerk’s office, explains Allegan County Clerk Bob Genetski.
The League of Women Voters of the Holland Area held a similar candidate forum in Zeeland two weeks ago, and in Holland nine nights ago.
