Hayden Minton and three relievers teamed on a two-hit, nine-strikeout shutout, as the Whitecaps whitewashed the visiting Lake County Captains in Midwest League playoff action at LMCU Ballpark last night, 4-0. West Michigan wins the best-of-three Eastern Division final, two games to none, and will hit the road on Sunday for the first game of the best-of-three League Championship Series, facing either Beloit or Cedar Rapids. The Kernels evened the Western Division final at a game apiece with a 5-3 home triumph over the Sky Carp, with the decisive third contest this evening in Cedar Rapids.
