ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 12, 2025) – A 47-year-old Nunica man was hurt in a crash, involving two vehicles and a trailer, between Allendale and Nunica on Thursday morning.
The incident that occurred around 7:30 AM blocked M-231 at the Buchanan Street overpass. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Dill, a small utility trailer filled of various items that was being pulled by a northbound pickup truck broke free and drifted into the southbound lanes. A southbound pickup then crashed into the trailer and skidded sideways, where it was struck by another southbound vehicle, while the trailer went over the guardrail and into a deep ravine.
The first southbound motorist was taken to an undisclosed Muskegon area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the first driver was not hurt, and the second southbound trucker suffered bumps and bruises. It took crews more than two hours to clean up the scene and reopen the roadway between Lincoln Street and Lake Michigan Drive.
The names of the drivers involved were not revealed by Dill as the incident remains under investigation.
