HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 3, 2025) – Could there be room for another holiday event along the Lakeshore?
Those behind the Tulip Time Festival hope so. On Wednesday, Executive Director Gwen Auwerda announced the first annual Dutch Winterfest, set for December 2nd through the 6th in the downtown area. It will include a Delft Downtown large-scale public art installation throughout downtown, curated in partnership with the Holland Area Arts Council; the Sinterklaas Shuffle tour through downtown led by the Dutch version of Ol’ St. Nick; Tulip Tales for Tots and Breakfast with Sinterklaas for the youngsters; a Winter Jazz Concert at the Park Theatre; a Holiday Haus Tour; and a Proost! Tasting Tour.
The Dutch Winterfest is meant to augment current holiday events such as the Parade of Lights, Magic at the Mill, Kerstmarkt, and the expected opening of the Ice Park at Window on the Waterfront Park.
“Just as Tulip Time brings people together in the spring, Dutch Winterfest will create magical moments during the holidays. The holidays in Holland already ignite joy, but Dutch Winterfest takes it to the next level. With so many unique events — from art and theatre to tastings and family traditions — there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy this season.” – – Gwen Auwerda, Executive Director at Tulip Time
Some of the events will require tickets, which are available at a newly-created website.
