HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 25, 2025) – As things go back to normal next month, with summer vacation season over, awareness of getting around in other ways than with an internal combustion engine-powered vehicle will be spotlighted.
Kicking off “Green Commute Week,” leaders from the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council will be cycling around the central area district of Holland on Sunday, September 7th, from 2-4 PM. They will be pedaling a nearly 4.5-mile course depicted in the image above, and a link to our photo galleries page will show you some of the scenes that they will be passing by.
According to a statement from the MACC: “Green Commute Week is a community-wide celebration of sustainable transportation in the Holland and Zeeland areas. This year, we’re focusing on how our commuting choices connect us, build a healthier community, and create a more vibrant future for all. By moving together towards greener options, we can make a bigger impact than we ever could alone. Participate and log your green miles for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.”
