HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 25, 2025) – After a few whirlwind days of moving in, and for some, starting a new way of life, a new academic year begins in earnest for the three institutions of higher education along the Lakeshore on Monday.
There will be 857 new and incoming students joining more than two thousand returnees at Hope College. Dance Department Chairman Matt Farmer addressed the opening convocation on Sunday at the Miller Center for Musical Arts.
It’s also the first day of classes for Grand Valley State University in Allendale, as well as Grand Rapids Community College’s campus on Holland’s North Side.
