GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 24, 2025) – A 54-year-old Jenison man lost his life following a two-vehicle, head-on crash south of the GVSU campus on Saturday evening.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Nicholas Knott as first responders were dispatched to Fillmore Street near Bend Drive, west of 36th Avenue, shortly before 7 PM. That was where the westbound sedan that the fallen motorist had been driving crossed the center line and slammed into an eastbound pick up truck, suffering what proved to be fatal injuries at the scene.
Two persons in the pickup – a 20-year-old Farmington Hills man behind the wheel and a 21-year-old Hudsonville woman – were taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in serious condition. The roadway was closed for several hours as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
