Inocencia Mares, age 95, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.
Inocencia was a true pillar of our family. God blessed her with the strength and wisdom to raise pillars of her own flesh and blood, so that when her time came to leave us, our family would still have a strong foundation to stand on.
Through her blessings, our family grew and flourished, and the life she created has been nothing short of magnificent. Her life is a memorial of love, sacrifice, and faith, and she left her mark on each of her children, and their children as well. She will never be forgotten. She lives on through us, and with us, in every moment of our lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ubaldo Mares; son, David Mares; and son, Ubaldo Mares Jr.
She is survived by her children, Angelica (Vicky) and Ramon Gaytan; Jose Daniel and Nellie Mares, Oscar Sr. and Naomi Mares, Inocencia Martha and Pedro Penaloza, Hilda Castellanos, Francisco and Norma Mares, Ricardo and Lupe Mares; daughter-in-law, Diana Mares; daughter-in-law, Hopey Mares; 31 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jesusa Ramos, sister-in-law, Lupita Ramirez; and her extended family.
Visitation with the family is from 10:00 am – 10:50 am on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Bread House Church, 712 Apple Ave., Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral service is the same day at 11:00 am also at Bread House Church.
Burial to take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
