PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 15, 2025) – Howard Fink may not be the next manager of Laketown Township, but he’s not coming back to Park Township.
Fink’s departure was announced during Thursday’s monthly meeting of the township’s Board of Trustees, as a mutual agreement of separation was disclosed. He will receive six months pay, but other details were not immediately forthcoming.
Fink, who had been the operational leader of that community for the last eight and a half years since coming from Northfield Township, had been on a personal leave since the beginning of the month, and his resignation will take effect on August 31st. He had been a finalist for the vacant Laketown Township managerial position, but was bypassed in the selection process by City of Kentwood staffer Stephanie Fox.
Last week, a tentative agreement between Laketown Township and Fox was put on hold by township trustees over allegations made from Fox’ previous stint as Ionia County Administrator. Fink and a fellow finalist, Graafschaap Fire Captain David Grumney, were asked by the board to remain available should the Fox appointment fall through.
