HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 8, 2025) – An initial effort to shine a spotlight on those who try to “bring order to chaos” is underway.
The first National Emergency Management Awareness Month is aimed at promoting the profession and highlighting the contributions of emergency managers across all levels of government, private industry, non-profits, and community-based organizations. Put forward by the International Association of Emergency Managers, it’s aims to bring attention during the month of August on all that EM’s, such as Allegan County’s Deputy Emergency Manager Justin Johnson, do to prepare for the worst.
The Holland City Council issued a proclamation on National Emergency Management Awareness Month during Wednesday’s business meeting, with Fifth Ward Councilman Scott Corbin currently serving as Kent County’s EM.
