UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 5, 2025) – An annual effort for neighbors to get to know each other more continues on Tuesday evening.
The National Association of Town Watch is the non-profit behind this 55-year-long initiative that looks to strengthen neighborhood ties with community resources, along with improving crime prevention. From 5:30 to 8 PM at Kollen Park, various entities will set up displays and hold various activities, including the Holland Department of Public Safety.
Bob Buursma is its Captain of Administrative Services.
In Zeeland, festivities from 6 to 8 PM near the junction of Main and Elm streets will include the formal dedication of Hoogland Plaza, to honor the long-time mayor Les Hoogland, who died last fall. He served 22 years before stepping down in favor of Kevin Klynstra, who himself is retiring following 14 years as mayor.
The National Night Out events in Holland and Zeeland are both free and open to the public.
